If your group is presenting on Tuesday, here are some notes for you to improve your sessions.

·         Audio:

o   Avoid talking too fast because some audiences may have slower Internet connection and they may not hear you clearly if we talk too fast.

o   If possible, using a headset with microphone but not required.

·         Engaging:

o   Engage your audiences in participating your training activities. Polling or voting is a good strategy.  Why not let the audiences to use or collaborate on the tool you are instructing? In addition, engage the audience participating or creating something with the technology you are instructing.  Avoid just lecturing entire session or demonstrating.

o   Q: What level of engagements should our training sessions integrate?

§  A: Higher level of engagement

·         High engagement: Engage the audience in creating/participating/contributing certain activities in the tool you instruct. Learner-Learner interaction/play. UGC, Participatory Web, Mashup, playing etc.

·         Medium engagement: Polling, chat room Q & A,

·         Low-now engagement: Lecturing

o   Polling is a quick & easy way to interact with and to know your audiences.

o

·         Time:

o   No one to wait for the instructor. Start on time since everything will be recorded.

o   Watch the session time. Avoid go over 30 minutes. Everything should be executed efficiently and effectively.

o   Leave enough time for Q & A.

·         Chat Room:

o   Any link in the presentation link is not clickable to the audiences. Copy & paste them to the chat room.

o   Have one teammate to moderate the chat room area since frequently there are some questions and conversations asked in the chat room area.

o   Go through the chat message after the session and answer the questions asked by the audience if you did not have time to answer them during the sessions.

·         Survey:

o   Put the web links in the chat room, such as your training sites, the survey etc. so the audiences can click it easily.

o   Be sure to check the survey permission to all since we have many participants don't have NAU accounts.

·         Grant:

o   One student asked about grant for technology integration. Here is a resource for your references: https://thejournal.com/articles/2019/11/18/upcoming-events.aspx

Regards,

Chih
